Food,Clothing,Shelther..the three basics for survival every other thing is extra really, but let's talk clothing..
Clothing= fashion=style all lead back to the basics, clothing needed to cover and shelter our bodies.
These days everything is fast!fast food, fast transport, smart fones and fast fashion..
But how sustainable for us and our planet?
Thankfully we have ethical fashion brands like Bamigo that are doing something about it by embracing bamboo fabrics and clothing.
Bamboos are some of the fastest-growing plants in the world, due to a unique rhizome-dependent system and certain species of bamboo can grow rapidly and massively, This rapid growth and tolerance for marginal land, make bamboo a good candidate for afforestation, carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation.
Bamboos are evergreen perennial flowering plants hence the sustainability to continually provide a resource for bamboo clothing and in turn a benefit for the environment..
Bamboo forests have many environmental benefits because they function as carbon sinks, produce oxygen, control soil erosion, provide organic matter, regulate water levels in watersheds, conserve biodiversity, beautify the landscape, and essentially contribute to the purification.
Bamboo Fashion has been reviewed and credited to feel so natural, soft and comfortable on the skin, almost like wool.
It is sustainable, incredibly breathable, soft, stretchy, and so durable with a softness and comfort level that is not comparable to fast fashion.
Bamboo offers excellent ventilation thanks to the microscopic holes in bamboo fibres. This is why bamboo keeps you feeling fresh and dry significantly longer.
Bamboo also has a structure that repels moisture, meaning it wicks away moisture making it more durable.
Despite the potential drawbacks of bamboo as a crop, there's no doubt that up to this point in the supply chain, it's a great deal more sustainable than cotton or many other commercially available alternatives.
So how does all these contribute to our environment, our climate and the need to protect the earth that shields us?
When you choose bamboo, you’re indirectly contributing to a more sustainable environment!
