5 Yoruba Movie Actresses you never knew aren't actually Yoruba..

Yes we all love Yoruba movies(well me) for their very educative story lines, humour and fantastic representation of the Yoruba culture.

In the very accommodating culture of the Yoruba's we have so many non Yoruba actors and actresses plying their trade in the Yoruba genre.

 This cannot be said of in the English genre, truth is the Yoruba section is always kind of relegated as the "class B's" which isn't supposed to be so I mean apart from Omotola and recently Funke Akindele and Eniola Badmus, there hasnt really been room for Yoruba actresses in English movies despite some of them also being very much educated.

Anyways I want to share with you 5 of them actresses who have been blazing trails in the Yoruba Industry despite not being Yoruba.. so Leggo!

1) Mercy Aigbe Gentry

Mercy speaks Yoruba even more fluently than an average Yoruba girl. She has nurtured her craft over the years starring in uncountable movies and productions including some of hers as well.

Mercy is a fantastic actress,a wife, mother of two and a fashion buff.

The actress hails from Edo State, Nigeria.

2) Fathia Balogun

Yes! I am sure you are wondering, but,Fathia is actually a muslim name and Fathia married a Yoruba man, Balogun. 

The very beautiful actress hails from Delta state. 

Her Dad from Delta and her mum from Anambra state.

Fathia is so good at her acting, even in traditional Yoruba films that you would have never thought she wasnt Yoruba.

Fathia is a mother,a fantastic actress and businesswoman.

3)Toyin Abraham

Is there any Yoruba actress who is as charismatic as Toyin?? she is versatile like that!. Toyin is excellent on the job and you would never have guessed that  she hails from Auchi in Edo State.

Toyin is married to actor Adeniyi Johnson.

Doris Simeon:

I have virtually followed Doris' career(on screen of course) from her days under tutelage of the Late Yomi Ogunmola's crew.

I am happy for how far her career has progressed,craft-wise and even stylewise Doris has sure leaped!

Even though I am not happy with how Doris' marital life has played out I think she is forging ahead and doing well for herself in the industry.

Doris is a mother,a businesswoman an actress and also a model. She hails from Edo state.

5) Liz Dasilva

Liz Dasilva has also created a following for herself in the Yoruba movie industry,but most never knew that Liz isnt actually a Nigerian! Well technically Liz's parents are from Togo,but she was born and bred in Lagos.

She says she still has ties with her folks in Togo but Nigeria is definately home for her!

Liz asides acting is also a producer,a model and a mum.
